Ray is a southern ghetto kid, a combat-decorated retired Army paratrooper, a father of six, storyteller, 12-time Moth story slam winner, audio producer and wrangler of goats. He has an MA in Public History and an E.Ds and Doctorate in Education Leadership. He is the creator and host of the podcast "What’s Ray Saying?" using history and story to explore the Black American experience from the unique perspective of the many worlds Ray inhabits. “...offering insights into finding our way through narratives -- and our retelling of them -- with wisdom and care.”
