Bynum is a retired cotton mill village along the banks of the Haw River founded around 1872. Bynum General Store opened in 1936. Our mission is to create family-friendly events and programs to celebrate the community’s rich history and bright future. Our monthly story circle meetings are filled with great stories. New members are guests are always welcome to attend and, if time permits, tell a story. The Southern Order of Storytellers/Georgia Storytelling Network provides opportunities for storytellers to tell their stories in small group settings or before large audiences, network with other storytellers and serve as stewards for the preservation and perpetuation of the art of storytelling.
