Plasters, Charles
Born in Mayodan, NC on 11-22-1940. Lived first two years in a mill company house with neither running water nor electricity. Family moved to Elizabeth City County, VA. In 1942 when his dad took a job in the Newport News shipyard. Grew up in government housing project. Education: Hampton High School class of 1959. Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School class of 1963.
Family: Lives in Wilmington, NC with his wife Beverly to whom he has been happily married for 58 years. They have two wonderful daughters, three terrific granddaughters, and a precious great granddaughter. Also, two fine sons-in-law and a fine grandson-in-law. Charles has been a storyteller ever since he could talk. He has a large supply of original stories of his own plus he borrows from old favorites such as “The Jack Tales,” “Paul Bunyan” and others. He has written and published a humorous book titled, The Christmas Pageant.
