Gordon, Kathy
I was raised in the mountains of Western North Carolina by parents who told stories of growing up in the mountains. I delight in retelling these stories and ones of my own childhood. I was blessed with a vivid imagination and have always put it to good use!
I graduated from Mars Hill College and Western Carolina University. I taught in Asheville City Schools for 30 years where I honed my storytelling skills everyday!
Since retiring, I have told at The Toe River Storytelling Festival, Fletcher Feed and Seed, The Altamont Theater, Stories From Asheville’s Front Porch and many others. A favorite is telling to elementary students. Highlights of my performances are Asheville’s 2013 Tellabration and a visit to the Jonesborough Storytelling Guild where I told on stage at the International Storytelling Center. I have even played the cantankerous wife of the legendary “Jack” in a play with Asheville/Buncombe College!
