Born and raised in North Carolina, I have a love and a passion for our state’s history and the rarer art of storytelling and oral tradition. I am the owner of the Beaufort Ghost Walk and I have been doing tours about our history and folklore/legends since 2009. Folks come from all over to do the ghost walk year after year, but it’s so much more than that. I dress as a pirate from the colonial times and bring history to life. Nothing brings me greater joy than for guests to be both entertained and learn about our history in the telling of those stories. I am also very active in the tourism industry of our county and emcee various events for the tourism development authority. I also teach and train new guides and staff to be storytellers as well. History is a passion of mine and I’ve found that through the use of schticks such as ghost stories, or pirates, it brings people in. Then through the magic of storytelling, they can learn and appreciate our area and history without even meaning to. I discovered this guild and I wanted to become a part of it.
