Award winning story performer and author, Joan Leotta, gives shows based on folklore or personal stories and performs women from history for audiences of all ages. Her one-woman shows include “Hurricane of Independence” about an indentured servant in the Lower Cape Fear, “Spy!” about Belle Boyd a confederate spy, “A Time to Heal” featuring a nurse during the Civil War, “Cook it Up” healthy food and eating supported through folklore of the region, and “On the Home Front” stories of World War II in the Lower Cape Fear. She is working on a new show “No More Bullies” with Communities in Schools of Brunswick County.
She speaks on writing and trains business groups in speaking skills and business writing.
