Born in Colorado, Donna Catton-Johnson lived in 10 different states and 2 foreign countries as an “Air Force brat”. She holds an Interdisciplinary B.A. in Visual Arts and Theatre (and was certified to teach both), and taught elementary art for 25 years, as well as drama and art for 12 Summer Arts programs. She has used storytelling as a teaching tool and has told stories in numerous schools and libraries, at the Surfside Storytelling Festival, at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, and at the Conway, SC, Ghost Walk. In addition, she has told at the Swapping Ground at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, which she has attended for the last five years. She is an actor in Murder Mystery Productions Dinner Theatre in Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, NC, and surrounding areas. She has performed at Piccolo Spoleto in Charleston, at the North Charleston Arts Festival, the Harborwalk in Georgetown, SC, the Dickens Trade Show at the M.B. Convention Center, and other trade shows in Charlotte, NC. She is a professional mime, a costume designer, and a theatrical director as well. Her favorite stories are old fairy and folk tales, but she is well-versed in ghost stories, and has some personal narrative tales to tell, too. Donna lives in Conway, SC, with her husband, David, and their two feline children. Their daughter, Amanda, lives in Brooklyn, NY, where Donna enjoys visiting.
